This has got to be the coolest finding of my treasure hunting career.  A Kurzweil Reader invented by none other than Ray Kurzweil, a modern day genius.  This was invented to help the blind read.  It basically scans anything with text and reads it back to you.  Just tried it out and without fail, this machine was reading back my son’s children’s book.  No more staying up reading books till my son falls asleep.  Machine cost about $4000 new back in 94.  It can be yours at only $245.

Yesterday, I was at Ah’s Garage Sale, a shop that my brother owns in Norristown Pa and someone had come in to buy an antique typewriter.  A big fan of typewriters, and I actually still use one to do most of my writing on, asked him what he was going to use it for.  Thought maybe he wanted to decorate his house, but it turns out, he was creating USB Typewriters and have been selling them on Etsy for the past week and have been doing pretty well for himself.  A genius idea and even better to create a source of income through his ingenuity.  Check out these USB Typewriters and let the DIY lifestyle flourish..

Its been baby steps here at Goldmine Unlimited in Lansdale.  The reorganizing, re-designing and moving furniture around at our new shop has been painstaking.  With our new addition to the family, I’ve had little to no time to invest in our shop on W. Main St.  We are still slated to fully open on weekends starting JUNE with the exception of the last two SATURDAYS of JUNE to shoot our video look-book and to sell at the Brooklyn Flea.  Its been an exhausting month that seemed a lot longer.  We’ve also been busy putting together our Online shop that will soon open and hopefully everything will come together smoothly as the summer begins.  Thanks for checking in!
